As a writer at heart, journaling has always been my little escape. It's where I pour my thoughts, dreams, and sometimes even my frustrations. But beyond the creative expression, journaling became something much more: a tool for tracking my mood, for self-reflection, and for finding inspiration during life’s ups and downs. With October being Mental Health Month, I wanted to share why I believe journaling can be key to finding joy, balance, and mindfulness.

Journaling feels like a safe space, a place that's entirely yours. When life becomes overwhelming or my thoughts are scattered, I open my journal and simply write. It doesn't have to be structured or perfect—that's the beauty of it. Letting go of perfection and allowing myself to pour out whatever's on my mind brings clarity. When my thoughts are laid out on paper, everything feels a bit lighter.

One thing I love about working at Nativa SPA is how our values align with personal well-being. We talk a lot about whole care for whole beings, and for me, journaling is part of that. It's about taking care of every aspect of yourself, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. Just as I nourish my skin with our quinoa oil-infused products, I nourish my mind by reflecting on my emotions and experiences through journaling. It’s my personal way of practicing a whole new kind of care.

In my experience, journaling can be both a grounding and inspiring habit. When I keep track of my mood or jot down small wins and challenges, it helps me stay connected to myself. On tough days, I revisit entries where I felt strong or confident, reminding myself that life comes with highs and lows, and it's okay to embrace every part of that journey.

Pro Tip: For an extra dose of self-love, I like to journal after an "everything shower." It’s my favorite kind of self-care—taking a few hours to treat myself to a full-body reset. After a long week, it feels incredible to pamper my skin with our Dry Brush and the Madagascar Vanilla Body Scrub for that perfect exfoliation, followed by the ultra-nourishing Ginseng & Caffeine Body Oil. And of course, I finish with the rich Madagascar Vanilla Body Lotion, sealing in the moisture and indulging in its comforting scent. It’s a ritual that leaves me feeling completely refreshed and renewed.

After this indulgent shower, I feel so much more grounded and ready to reflect on my week. Journaling after a moment of pampering feels like I'm not just taking care of my skin but also giving my mind and soul the care they deserve.

If you’ve never tried journaling, Mental Health Month is the perfect time to start. Whether you use it to track your mood, jot down affirmations, or simply vent, journaling can become a vital tool in your wellness routine. At Nativa SPA, we believe in taking care of all of you. So why not start with a journal entry after your next self-care ritual? I urge you to write your way into joy, balance, and a more mindful life with me. Shall we?
